These
days we are all urged to "Go for it" with the implication being
that getting off the mark and plunging ahead brings success without further
ado. We at SCORE would counsel that it's also a great idea to make sure
that you are headed in the right direction. Great Beginnings is designed
to make the entrepreneur knowledgeable about the issues of starting a
small business so that those first steps allow him (and her) to "move
out smartly". This seminar is essential to the start-up to prepare
you in depth for the decisions you will have to make!
We
will look at:
- The
core elements of a Business Plan
- Resources
available through the Small Business Administration
- Accounting,
record keeping and tax issues that must be addressed
- Pros
and cons of legal structure options of your business
- Financing
options
- Risk
mitigation issues employing insurance
Any
person starting a business without knowledge of these issues may be heading
for the cliff while admiring the clouds in the sky!

the pros and cons of the variety of legal structures you can employ for
your business. Pete formed his own law firm

their guarantee loan programs, the 7a loan program, the Community Express
loan program, and microloans. In addition April will discuss government
contracting, websites and contacts. April met small business early through
her family-owned home milk delivery business.
WILLIAM (WILLY) CAMPBELL will discuss the elements
a Business Plan must cover and the issues you must prepare for in managing
your business. Willy has an AB and BSEE from Columbia University and an
